Harman Kardon AVR-254 7x50W 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver with HDMI 1.3a Repeater Review

I have had this running since about Decemeber 08. I am not a hard core audiophile and was happy living life as a bose man. Decided to try something different so picked this up, HSU speakers and the other stuff in my title. Easy install and firmware update process, looks nice, great GUI & features (I like the nightmode, we have kids), sounds great when all the planets are aligned but just does not work consistantly. Everytime we try to watch some tv something has to be restarted, input switched back and forth, etc. Others have mentioned the problems with the comcast dvrs and I have all of them, green screen, trouble switching between HD and SD, popping when changing channels, etc. If comcast/motorola and HK every work out the differences it will be great, in the meantime, don't get stuck being monkey in the middle on the firmware standoffs, try something else if you have comcast or get a different provider if your hooked on HK. For all the knocks Bose takes from the hardcores, at least it works without the juggling.
